Willie Horn

Gordon Smith

Willie Horn was born up in the Borders. Early on, his parents moved to Amble and he served his apprenticeship as a cobbler there.

Now at this time, he was not an Evangelist. He was a bit of a tearaway. In his biography, he describes how he dressed up in women’s clothes, went to a dance and fooled most of his compatriots.

Willie eventually came to Blyth and became an Evangelist, or missionary, as he preferred it. He went round to Newham, Newbiggin and Cambois.
