Welcome to Victorian Blyth, celebrating our town's heritage with photographs, information, poetry, drama and song. We invite you to view and listen to both researched material and newly inspired writing about Blyth's Victorian past.
The site also has details of the musical production The People Must Pay, which has been performed here in Blyth at the Phoenix Theatre. |

The show was put together by combining the talents of local writers, composers, musicians and actors, supported by the research skills of historians from our area.
The script and songs were devised by BRIC’s writers’ group led by Carol Clewlow, and a songwriters’ group led by Pete Scott at Cramlington Folk Club. The show was directed by Piers Ibbotson. |

This project was documented by photographer Denise Manderson, who supplied all production images on this website.
Audio material has been transcribed for the benefit of visitors with hearing difficulties, who may prefer to read the content rather than use a speech synthesiser. |
